International Events

In 2020 Pony Club Australia will send teams to compete in Tetrathlon in the UK, showjumping in France, Quiz in UK and activities in China.  Australia will also host and compete in the International Mounted Games being held in Perth, Western Australia. 

Pony Club members travel with a coach and/or manager and applicants need to be resilient and capable of riding borrowed horses. 


The MOUNTED GAMES team will be made up of a rider from WA, SA, Vic, Qld, Tas with nominations coming from the state association. The 2020 team is

TETRATHLON has a team of 4 males and 4 females aged 16-25 years. Candidates will be proposed by the state associations. It is important that the Tetrathlon team members are good competitors across all four disciplines of Tetrathlon.

Nominations have been provided by the state association and the team will be announced soon.


FRANCE - a team of 4 riders (aged 18-25) and a coach will compete in the World Club Tournament in 1m showjumping at Lamotte Beuvron, Normandy in July 2020. Teams from across the world compete in this event. Riders need to have their B certificate. Riders must not have an FEI competition record.

QUIZ - 4 team members (aged 16-25) and a manager will travel to the UK in August to compete in the International Pony Club Quiz. This will include a trip to the Pony Club UK National Championships which is a huge event. It is a tough but fun competition and candidates need to have at least C* or K certificates but preference will be given to nominees with B or A certificate.

CHINA - the program for 2020 is still being finalised and no travel is planned prior to late April 2020. PCA is aware of the current concerns about travel to China due to Coronavirus. A range of trips are under consideration and include an international showjumping competition in Shanghai in July and 60cm jumping and games competitions in April and October. 

PCA will select a short list of applicants and then discuss the most appropriate trip for the rider. 

Applicants should be aged 15-18 years at 1st January 2020 and have at least their C certificate.
